my sweet baby

anyhoo... blogger pisses me off in one respect. posting pics here is a trick i have yet to figure out, and that hello shit seems like a major pain.

so, if you click on the title of this post, you will be directed to a pic of my honey pie. :)

we went to the shore house over in long beach for dinner. we were going to have the traditional calzone. wen'l wanted one. that used to be "our" dinner, back when we was dead crackers po'. both of us could eat for $11, and the traditional calzone is damn tasty, and we hadn't had one in at least a year.

alas, they couldn't do pizza tonite, so they couldn't do calzone either. BOOHOO!! so, i had the pot roast sammich. wen'l had the beef melt. and i drank way too much coffee. it's a rare thing indeed for a coffee shop to have decent coffee, and they serve a lovely french roast at the shore house.

i think i had 5 cups. i'll probably be up half the night, but it was worth it.

anyhoo... i'll cook something fantabulous for dinner tomorrow and get back to posting a recipe. i need to figure out something to do with the juice of the 10 lemons i zested yesterday for limoncello. oh hey! a recipe!

limoncello (a lovely lemony digestif)

the zest of 10 lemons
4 cups vodka
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 1/2 water

place vodka and zest in a sealable jar, like a mason jar and allow to sit in a cool, dark place for 4 days. on the fifth day, place the sugar and the water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. allow to cook 5 minutes, remove from heat and allow to cool. add simple syrup to the vodka mixture and allow to stand overnight. strain through a layer of cheesecloth in a conical sieve, pressing the solids firmly. strain again through a second layer in the same manner. chill and allow to stand 1 week.
serve very cold.

Nice pic of your guy!

The Hello program is what I use to post pictures up on my blog. I download my pictures from my digital camera on to my computer, the pictures get stored/sorted in Picasa, then from Picasa I press the "Send Hello" button and it goes directly to the Hello program which posts it on my blog. To be honest, I did find it a pain to download and install and then configure those two programs on to my computer. It took a while for me to figure it out.

Instead of using Hello, you could maybe set up a free Photobucket account (www.photobucket.com) which allows you to store photos. Once you've uploaded a photo, you get an http: address for that photo which you can then paste into your blog posts.

Or with that geocities address for the picture your guy, place the http address in between these tags:

< img src = "http://PUT THE ADDRESS HERE AND DON'T FORGET THE CLOSING QUOTE TAG ">

Hello worked for me at first but then it started doing this stupid thing where it opens a browser window and wants to verify your password online or something. Well, I use the SBC Yahoo! browser, don't know if that has anything to do with it, but whenever Hello opens a window it instantly pops up some error message and the window closes again. I've tried everything humanly possible to get around this and it doesn't work. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

I rock the Photobucket scene too. It's easy to upload photos to them, resize so they fit on your post page just right, and then you can easily either plug in the < img > tag or you can hotlink to the photo...

AND, it's free :)
And nothing is better than free
